Having eaten breakfast we’ll disembark to see the majestic city of Luxor, or Thebes to give it its ancient name. Here we’ll visit two of the most spectacular temples in Egypt, the Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple, separated from each other by the Avenue of Sphynxes, a 3 km long road lined with the aforementioned sphynxes.
Having eaten, we’ll head to the giant necropolises near Luxor. We’ll visit the Valley of the Kings (seeing the inside of 3 tombs), the Temple of Hatsepsut (dedicated to the only woman to rule Egypt for an extended period) and the Colossi of Memnon (two giant stone statues which represent the Pharoah Amenhotep III).
Then upon our return to the boat, we’ll sail in the direction of Edfu, where we’ll dock to eat and spend the night.
Once we’ve eaten and with batteries recharged, we’ll visit the Edfu temple, dedicated to the god Horus. The cruise then continues towards Kom Ombo, where we’ll visit its incredible temple, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Hareoris.
After the day’s tour, we’ll head up the Nile to Aswan, where we’ll spend the night.
Having eaten we’ll disembark to visit one of the most beautiful temples in the country, the Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. And after visiting Philae, anyone who wants to can visit the Abu Simbel temples, something highly recommended.
Then in the evening, we’ll ride in a traditional felucca boat down the Nile, taking in its flora and fauna, volcanic islands and its natural beauty. Then, we’ll spend the night in Aswan again.
Having eaten breakfast and checked out you’ll have free time, and whenever you like we’ll take you to the Aswan airport, train station, or whichever point in the city you would like. If your transfer is in the evening you can also have lunch on board.
Our 4-night cruise from Luxor includes the following tours, all of which are with an English-speaking guide.
Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon, Edfu Temple, Philae Temple and the Temple of Kom Ombo and its crocodile museum. You’ll also enjoy a cruise on a traditional felucca boat.
If you would like to complete your trip by visiting the Tomb of Nefertari or the Tomb of Seti I, an additional fee of 1,216 Egyptian pounds (approx. € 65 (US$ 71.70)) per person must be paid.
